King James at 400
Union Days 2011
October 13 & 14, 2011
|
King James I of England commissioned a new English language translation of the Bible in 1604. This third major English translation was completed in 1611 and has held great sway over the lives of Christian churches for four centuries. This year's Union Days is focused on this monumental anniversary: The 400th anniversary of The King James Bible, also known as the Authorized Version. Many English translations of the Bible exist today, but few can match the scope of impact of this early seventeenth century book.
Featured speakers and workshop leaders include Tom Boomershine, Katharine Sakenfeld, David Trobisch and others. Join us this year for another weekend of reunions, lectures, study and worship as Union celebrates the quadricentennial of The King James Bible.
