Biography

Tracy Riggle Young is a second-year PhD student in the field of Social Ethics.  She holds an M.A. in Systematic Theology from Union Theological Seminary and a B.A. in Religion and Psychology from Denison University.  Tracy’s academic interests include feminist theory, liberation theology, womanist pedagogy, the American Social Gospel movement, critical race theory, educational theory, and faith-based social movements.  Her own research is aimed at evaluating the state of US public education from a feminist liberationist ethical standpoint. Tracy is an alumna of Teach For America and spent two years teaching in the South Bronx prior to her graduate work.  In her free time she enjoys traveling, running, and spending time with her family and friends in the New York City area.
