The Interseminary Dialogue is an informal gathering of seminarians from eight different Jewish and Christian seminaries in the New York area, representing a variety of denominational traditions. Any interested student can come to one, all, or a few of our eight evening dialogues, one of which is hosted by each seminary. We gather to socialize, hear a brief presentation by the hosting seminary, and then hold small group discussions on the evening's subtopic. There is typically a tour offered of each seminary’s worship spaces at the end of the evening. This year’s topic is still yet to be determined. Past topics have included death and the nature of authority, reading and re-reading Genesis 1-11. Last year’s topic was violence and religion. The Interseminary Dialogue is a great opportunity to form friendships and develop understanding across denominational and religious lines and to share Union's unique and diverse perspectives with the broader religious community.
