Union Theological Seminary is proud of the dynamic and unique contribution its students in the Doctor of Philosophy program bring to the intellectual life of the school through their writing, research and teaching. Union Ph.D. students focus their study on aspects of the Christian tradition and Christian thought, often in conversation or dialogue with other religious traditions, with a view to teaching in colleges or universities and seminaries, or holding positions of leadership in churches, social service and social justice agencies.
