About the Lecture Series
The Forrest Church Memorial Lecture will host leading scholars, ministers and public figures at Union Theological Seminary annually, providing a platform for the advancement of Liberal Religion in theological education and public life. The Lectures are also a meeting point for members of All Souls, Union, Unitarian Universalist, and other liberal religious communities to engage academic and ministerial leaders whose work stands directly on the shoulders of Dr. Church's legacy.

About the Rev. Dr. Forrest Church
Beloved Senior Minister of the Unitarian Church of All Souls for more than 30 years, The Rev. Dr. Forrest Church was widely renowned as the leading Unitarian Universalist figure of the late 20th and early 21st Centuries. His career as a public theologian, scholar and pastor impacted world leaders, faith communities, educational and cultural institutions, and seekers of all stripes. Cherished in the Union community, he served for more than ten years on Union’s Board of Trustees and played a key role in advancing the Seminary’s resources for training Unitarian Universalist leaders and opening new doors for liberal religious thought at Union and far beyond. In his public, pastoral and scholarly work, and through his committed engagement with Union students, faculty, graduates and friends, Forrest Church actively embodied Union’s commitment to educating leaders and extending social justice.
