for colored girls

"for colored girls... at Union" is a senior M.Div. thesis produced and directed by emerald carter. the project intends to transform James Memorial Chapel into a space of healing: presented to you by women of color from within the Union community and supported by the people who love them. 

"for colored girls... at Union" features selected poems from Ntozake Shange's "for colored girls who have considered suicide when the rainbow is enuf" (1975). The full text is a masterpiece, all credit given to Ntozake Shange, herself.

There will be two performances of "for colored girls...at Union".  Event details below

Performance 1
April 4, 2013, 6:30 p.m.
James Memorial Chapel
Followed by a women of color circle in the Social Hall featuring womanist scholars, Union alumnae, and fabulous women in general.  

Performance 2
April 5, 2013, 6:30 p.m.
James Memorial Chapel
Followed by a party in the pit, featuring PUB! and the first annual Union DJ Cypher
