Edible Churchyard’s Harvest Home celebration will bring together faith and community based urban gardeners as well as seminarians in a spirit of celebration, reflection, and communion. At the heart of the celebration will be a non-denominational thanksgiving service in James Memorial Chapel designed to cap off the growing season and honor the spiritual dimension of food justice and ecology in an urban setting. Afterwards, there will be a reception/talk, which will give farmers the opportunity to come together to learn about each other’s projects, to network, and to exchange best practices. At this event, we hope to encourage up-and-coming urban growers, forge connections between future religious leaders and those working on the ground to promote growing, and create space for inspiration.
