Financial Aid Application

Applicants who are United States citizens or eligible non-citizens who wish to be considered for federal and institutional financial aid (including scholarships, grants, fellowships, loans, and jobs) must submit an Online Financial Aid Application.

Applicants should submit this online financial aid application by the deadline of their application for admissions, see below:

Continuing Union students must also submit Online Financial Aid Application by March 15 for priority consideration for aid. All applicants and students must provide any supporting documentation requested by the Financial Aid Office including tax returns; you are therefore urged to make a copy of your tax return when you complete it.

Students in joint-degree programs with other universities (i.e. Columbia University) should check with those respective financial aid offices to determine what other application forms may be required.

International Students

If you are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you must complete an Online International Applicant’s Financial Aid Application instead of the Online Financial Aid Application.

All international applicants must provide a list of funding sources available to them for the proposed period of study from all sources other than Union Theological Seminary. Amounts must be stated in U.S. dollars and must be certified by banks holding funds if they are personal or family funds, or by officials of organizations assuring financial support if funds are from churches or other agencies.

Upon completion of the Online International Applicant’s Financial Aid Application, the applicant will receive instructions regarding bank certifications and sponsor or guarantor’s certification of financial support. All applicants must follow instructions included in that email.

Online Application Instructions

To get started on the financial aid applications you will be asked to log-in with your “My Union” account (same account as the one used during the online application process). If you do not remember your username and/or password do not register again, please contact admissions@uts.columbia.edu. Allow 24 to 48 hours for a response.

At any point in the online application you can click "Save and Close" in order to save all changes and return to your online application at a later time.
