Unheard Voices, Forgotten Cries:
The Challenge of Invisible Communities for the Historical & Theological EnterprisePublic Symposium, 2:00 p.m., Social Hall The historical and theological enterprise as carried out in seminaries and theological schools has been most challenged by the absence of communities and voices that have been historically and even systemically made invisible because of the issues of race, gender, religion, poverty, and education. This panel of invited scholars will examine this issue as they consider the following questions: What does this invisibility mean for the historical and theological work that must be done in the 21st century? What new questions need to be asked by historians and theologians? What challenges and obstacles must be addressed? Samuel Cruz Assistant Professor of Church and Society, Union Theological Seminary
